| If you're ready, here's some important things to
think about: |
| 1) If you haven't registered a
domain name, what are your five top choices? Your company name is
best; short is better than long, .com is better than .net,
graphic characters are bad - i.e. "M&A.com" |
| 2) What are your goals; what do you
want from your web site? |
| 3) How do you envision the web site
to look, about how many pages? |
| 4) Do you want a "static" site (
which doesn't need maintenance) or a "dynamic" site (you'll be
constantly changing & adding things)? |
| 5) Do you want it based on your
existing literature or start from scratch? |
| 6) About how many graphics per page
will you want (fewer is better)? |
| 7) Can you supply the graphics
(digital files) or do I need to create them? |
| 8) Do you like (and want) animation
(cool, but pages may load slow)? |
| 9) Do you want links to other
companies; if so, about how many? |
| 10) How many email addresses do you
need? |
| 11) Need E-commerce (it can add
hundreds of dollars to the cost)? |
| 12) Shall we use free methods to
submit your site to search engines or do you want to pay extra for
possible "better" listings? |
| 13) Do you want us to design the
site, then hand it over - or will we continue to maintain it for
you? |
| 14) Do you need any special feature
like forms, ezines, searches, etc? |
| Lastly, two suggestions: |
| Check out your competitor's
sites; what do you like & dislike? |
| Know your budget in advance! |
